SingStar guitar help

Couple of potentially pretty dumb questions here, but i've never had a gaming guitar before, so i'm playing my n00b card.

Just downloaded the SingStar guitar gameplay feature (plus a guitar add-on for one of my songs to try it out) and i bought a new gaming guitar. It's a "Blaze Rock Guitar" and says it's compatible with PS2 and PS3 on the box.

It appears to be brand new, but came with no instructions.

I've plugged in the dongle (i think that's what that part's called, right?) by the USB lead (there are 2 leads from the dongle, but the other looks like what i'd use to connect it to a PS2) and two of the lights come on; one under the number 2 is solid red and one under "Link" flashes red continuously.

Then i've put batteries into the guitar, but regardless of what buttons i press, nothing happens.

I'm worried that the guitar might be broken, but having not got any other games to try it out on and not knowing what's SUPPOSED to light up/not light up, i'm really not sure.

2 questions:

- anyone got the same make of guitar who can confirm what's supposed to happen?

- are there any gaming guitars known to not work with SingStar?

Please use plain text.

Re: SingStar guitar help

Ok, ignore the above post. I managed to get the guitar to work - really strange combination of buttons that needs to be held down for a certain number of second when you first switch it on or else it'll show no sign of life. Kinda combination that would make an instruction manual beneficial. -_-

Just had a few plays on it. It's REALLY difficult. I think i naturally pick up on the drum beats of each song more than the guitar, so i keep unintentionally strumming at the wrong time (matching the timing of the drums rather than the guitar). Plus i haven't managed a single successful hammer-on/pull-off note yet - don't fully understand them even after the tutorial. AND finding it difficult on medium and hard difficulties to incorporate the fourth and fifth buttons respectively.

So VERY difficult, but been kinda fun on a couple of the songs. Will give it another try later this week.

Anyone recommend easier songs i'll have better chance with on higher difficulties?
