Hi Chris.
You can't transfer/download the PS2 disk songs on to the PS3's hard drive unfortunately.
You can however still use all the PS2 Singstar disks.
During the game when you are on the 'Choose Song' section, simply press Select and then you can swap disks. Insert the PS2 disk of your choice and voila !

This didn't work for me.. is a firmware upgrade required? I never did any because my PS3 is not internet connected.

im not sure if an internet upgrade is required, but i only found this out yesterday, ive had much fun pretty much all day today with all my songs of my ps2 disks and i am happy that i dont have to buy them all again
make sure that you are on 'song selection' when you press the 'select' button to swap disks. you also have to own a singstar disk to do this, as it does not work on the singstar viewer from sigstore.
i dont know if this has been helpful, but i hope for the best if you can figure it out!

I don;t think it works on the standalone type discs like Wiggles (although I may be wrong). But yes it should tell you to insert another SingStar disc.
Vippina - yes an update is required, unless you have the later PS3 SingStar discs.
